As part of my interiors role with Asilia Africa, I stepped in to do a refresh on existing interiors for Dunia Camp. This involved adding another layer to fully transform the newly built main area and freshen the look and feel of the rooms.
We had waited a long time to give this camp a much-needed revamp. The amazing ladies running Dunia deserved a camp that reflected their infectious, joyous spirit. It needed to be elegant, practical and definitely to celebrate 'women in Africa'.
Many of the items I sourced were made by female entrepreneurs and artists from East Africa - from the artwork, to the woven wall hangings and even the female-owned company who made our bathroom vanities.
